The Key to Dreams
by: HoshiHitode
A simple chain,
A simple key hanging.
For each dream, there is a key.
For each secret, there is a key.
I have lots and lots of keys.
But do you have the key to my key?

I have given you a key.
What does it stand for?
That, my friend, is up to you.
Wear it on a chain around your neck reminding you,
That everyone has secrets.
Put it by your pillows side to remind you
To unlock your dreams potential.

Keys are curious things.
Only the wisest of us know how to use them properly.
They can be found in the most unusual of places,
But are used in the most common of ways.

Keys don’t have to be a piece of metal.
They could be a certain person you meet on the street,
and suddenly you remember why you live.
It could be a note someone left for you,
or a gentle gesture in the hall,
reminding you of the goodness in the world.

Keys are everywhere in this world,
the question is, however,
What will you do with your Keys?
Most of you know me, i am NOT a craftsy person. not voluntarily at least. but a dear friend of mine's birthday was this Wednesday, and i realized that on Saturday :) AHHHH. i had no money, but i knew i had to do something. i knew he liked Greek gods, and i wanted to make him a necklace with Apollo on it.... obviously didn't happen quite the way i planned. but i am very pleased with this result. i took a regular key, painted it, then embossed (and burned myself in the process) it. (embossed is the gold stuff. it starts off as powder, then you heat it up (hence the burning) and then it turns molten and HOT) i wrote the poem, and i'm hoping he'll like it....
so anyways, 5 hours and at least 5 burns later: WALA!! i also made/painted and embossed a glass jar with wire all over it, with his name in greek on the tag (the only greek thing on there -_-" *sigh*) haha anyways it was a lot of fun, and i'm thinking of doing similar things like this for Christmas. WITHOUT the embossing.
anyways, thats what i did today -_- now i need to go and put burning cream on my fingers... yeah. do not try and hold a metal key while trying to emboss something. DOES NOT WORK.
Poem: BY ME. DO NOT USE IT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.

I love the poem! and the key, too. I should look into embossing, it looks way cool.

thank you :) i didn't quite heat them all the way that they should've been, but i liked it looking a little corral like. *shrug* like the sea or something haha idk. its a pain, and if you're doing it on paper, you have to be careful not to burn the pages. but it ends up pretty nice though, if you do it right.
